Alice Astle (née Hurlebut; 1633 – 1699) was the 11th great-grandmother of Cometan, classified as one of Cometan’s distant paternal ancestors in the Taylor family line. Born in Ashton-upon-Mersey in Cheshire, Alice is understood to have been the daughter of William Hurlebut and Jane Darlinton. Alice is recorded as having married Randle Astle (1624 – 1691), after whom he son was named when she gave birth in 1662. Alice died at the age of sixty-six in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
