Astronism in France refers to the presence of the Astronist philosophy and religion in the French Republic. The operations of the Astronist Institution in this country are under jurisdiction of the Astronist Superiate of France, also called the French Superiate, a national subsidiary of the worldwide Astronist Institution.
The Astronist Superiate of France oversees the construction and maintenance of observatories and planetariums throughout its jurisdiction. Domestically, France is split into eighteen regions and holds one Grand Observatory in the capital city of Paris.
France also holds five overseas collectivities, one overseas territory, and one special collectivity, which have their own supersubsidiary institutions, which are under the direct authority of the Astronist Institution for the French Republic.
This national branch of the Astronist Institution manages the official representation and depiction of Astronism throughout this territory, including efforts to protect the identity of the philosophy with the intention of further disseminating it throughout the territory.
It is the Institution alone that is granted the status of proprietor to the philosophy in this territory as any other organisations or institutions proclaiming such a role are deemed as unauthorised proprietors and are therefore considered as part of the anti-Institutionist movement.

History of Astronism in France[]
Astronism is not currently, as of December 2020, recognised as a valid religion by the French government, however, religious liberties for Astronists are generally practiced through France. Therefore, Astronists are generally free to express their beliefs publicly without incident.
The translation of Astronist content into French had not yet occurred by the end of 2020 according to the Astronist Institution which poses a significant restriction of the ability of Astronism to spread in France and other French-speaking territories.
As a result, the number of French Astronists is estimated to be only 11,745 out of a total population of 65 million people in France. This is according to data retrieved by the Astronist Institution in November 2020.
