In the Astronist philosophy of religion and in the study of religious phenomena as a sociological discipline, companarianism refers to the instance in which a person continues their adherence to a religion or continues attending a place of worship regularly primarily for the purpose of socialising rather than due to their ardent belief in the tenets and theology of the religion. People who conduct this practice are known as companarians in Astronic philosophy and religion.
