Jane Ellen Pitcher (née Prescott; formerly Heaton; 1867 – ????) was the 3rd great-aunt of Cometan, part of the Prescott family line. The aunt of Mary Warbrick, Cometan’s great-grandmother and the sister of Joseph Prescott, Cometan’s great great-grandfather, Jane married her first husband named Thomas at the age of twenty-two in July 1889 in Chorley. She was born in Wheelton to David and Ann Prescott (née Kirkham).
Following her husband’s death in 1897 of typhoid at the age thirty-six, Jane remarried a man named Charles Vincent Pitcher in 1899 and had a further five children. In Cometanic ancestry, Jane Ellen is classified as one of Cometan’s notable ancestors.
