Jenet Clapham (also spelt as Janet; née Hirde; 1550 – January 3, 1606) was the 12th great-grandmother, classified as one of Cometan’s distant paternal ancestors in the McKerney family line. Jenet is understood to have been the daughter Christopher Hirde (1530 – 1582) and Lady Catherine Maiden (1530 – 1579). Jenet is recorded as having married her husband George (1550 – 1624) either on 27th or 28th September 1572 in Keighley, Yorkshire. Jenet is also known to have given birth to a son named William in 1575 at the age of twenty-five.
In Cometanic ancestry, Jenet is categorised as part of the 14th generation retrograde, classifying her as a distant ancestor of Cometan.
