Margery Fairclough of Tarleton (née Becconsall; c. January 1668 – June 1739) was the 8th great-grandmother of Cometan, classified as one of Cometan’s distant paternal ancestors in the Stringfellow family line.
Born in Croston, Lancashire, Margery was the daughter of Hugh Becconsall (1630 – 1679) and the wife of William Fairclough (1665 – 1729). Transcribed in her will was the division of Margery’s estate across her seven children (Robert, George, Henry, William, Ann, Margt, and Margery). Margery is recorded as having died at the age of seventy-one in Croston.
In Cometanic ancestry, Margery is categorised as part of the 10th generation retrograde, classifying her as a distant ancestor of Cometan.
