Moon worship, also known by its technical term selenolatry, or luniolatry^[1], is the worship of The Moon (either full moon worship, waxing or waning crescent worship), or the worship of moons generally, as a result of lunar deification (the association of divinity with The Moon, or a moon).

Types of moon worship[]

Worship of The Moon – worship of only Earth's moon
Full moon worship – worship of only the full moon
Waxing crescent worship – worship of only the waxing crescent
Waning crescent worship – worship of only the waning crescent
General moon worship – worship of moons generally (especially moons of other planets)
