the practice of depicting or carving astronomical events, symbols and beliefs onto rock faces and other items, common in prehistory. The associated archaeoastronological method of interpreting depictions on cave walls or rock carvings, as well as other forms of prehistoric religious expression, such as monument-building and amulet-making, to determine their proximity to the Astronic tradition (their Astronicity).
