Rational Astronism is a form of Astronism often contrasted with Empirical Astronism and Superstitious Astronism and is regarded as being middleground between those two extremes. Each of these three forms regard beliefs in different ways and Rational Astronism is characterised as exhibiting a need for logic and reason from the beliefs within Astronism.

However, as distinguished from Empirical Astronism, Rational Astronism does not require proof or verifiability for any of the beliefs within Astronism. It demands only that such beliefs conform to logical notions and rational justifications as is the ethos of the Philosophical Spirit.
