Thomas Etherington (1660 – February 17, 1742) was the 9th great-grandfather of Cometan, classified as one of Cometan’s distant maternal ancestors in the Warbrick family line. Born in St Mary in Oldham, Thomas was the husband of Mary Stott and the father of Thomas Etherington (1685 – 1756). Recorded as having died at age eighty-two, Thomas died in Oldham (then part of Lancashire).
