Transpatronymy is the practice of combining one's surname with one's partner's surname in order to create a brand new surname and is a popular practice within the Millettarian onomatological system. The first recorded instance in which this practice occurred was in the case of Brandon Taylorian when he changed his surname from Taylor to Taylorian in order to assimilate with his partner, Liana Tiratsuyan's Armenian surname.
